Beyond the Limit

As many in the towing business know, one of the corollaries of buying a new tow truck is going all out to furnish it with a great design.

Such was the case for Unlimited Towing & Recovery owner Jeff Graham, who last year maximized the graphics on the company's new 2017 Ford F-650/Jerr-Dan 22' flatbed.

"I didn't want to buy an older truck," Graham said, "because I had problems in the past. It was time to step it up as well as our graphics."

The York, Pennsylvania, company turned to a local graphics company for some inspiration.

"I actually went to a place I used before called Impressive Signs. I've known them for a long time," Graham said. "As soon as I bought the truck, I wanted to get it wrapped; motivated by a couple of big contests, including the [American Wrecker Pageant] at the American Towman Exposition in Baltimore."

The unit, which won second place in the Car Carrier class, stands out for several features. One of them is its fresh white company logo on the side doors.

"It's a new logo," Graham said. "I would like to revamp our 2009 Dodge wrecker with the same style."
According to Graham, the company name was not arrived at easily.

"I didn't like the way my name sounded," Graham said. "I wrote down 20 different names on a piece of paper and finally narrowed it down to 'Unlimited.' "

The main design of this wrap, which covers the hood as well, consists of red flames and blue diamond plates.

"I can't take credit it for it," Graham said. "When I went to Impressive Signs, I said to them, 'Give me something that "wows" everybody.' First they came back with flames and I said 'let's try to get more realistic flames. Let's change this.' And they did it."

Giving the rollback further appeal are its illuminating Maxxima lights.

"We put them on a couple of days before the tow show. They really light up at night," Graham said.

As for the unit's impact, Graham said, "I love it, everybody we tow loves it and everybody knows me for it."
